about
"Hasty" came from a batch of songs I wrote for a circus show in the NY Fringe Festival. It originally supported an awesome balance act done by Ermiyas Muluken where he free climbed a very tall ladder. The song's origins blossomed into a metaphor about how we can be caught in an inner debate with ourselves: do we observe our impulses and therefor end them, or do we blindly climb toward them with abandon? In the end, there must be a balance.

LYRICS:
Can anybody help me
Try and be a little bit less hasty?
And by surprise, you caught my eyes
Better wait
And better end this night well
Well...
I might have more time than I thought
This light's quite striking on ya
Guess I'm yours for now
Oh yeah
Can anybody help me?
I'm trying to be a little bit less hasty
And by surprise, you caught my eyes
Better wait
And better end this night well
Well...
Oh my, I'm right back in your
Grip, tight: lesson never learned
Keep looking forward, don't look down
Go
Climb up your ladder
Forgive all
High from your tower
You leapt out before us
